Kamisuki paper made with food waste
We challenged to make new Japanese paper by using the Japanese traditional "paper making" technique called “kamisuki”. Since “food waste” has been a global problem, we had the idea of mixing these food waste with the paper. Our goal is not only aiming to save our resources but also to create a new and elegant paper.
We tried things that are not longer needed such as Japanese green tea leaf, orange peel, egg shel etc. to make the resources be usable again. We believe by experimenting with various textures, strength and smell etc. the result could be use in different products (lantern, paper box, package label) and eventually lead to a new design expression.
