feather step classic

We were in charge of product design for the flagship sneaker [feather step classic] for SHAMMY Co., Ltd.(Yamato Koriyama City, Nara Prefecture), a company that designs and manufactures footwear including sneakers and leather shoes.

The company’s feather step brand, developed as footwear for daily walking, has been supported by many people since its launch due to its lightness and softness. The concept of the flagship sneaker, which inherits the performance qualities of “feather step,” is “footwear that can be used comfortably for both formal and casual wear. To realize this concept, we aimed to create a design with fashion (aesthetics) on the outside, which people can see, and function on the inside, which are not seen.

The upper and sole use lines, stitches, and details that have been studied in appropriate modules to create a minimalist design befitting the name “classic” that thoroughly eliminates waste. We focused on details such as the integration of stitching inside the heel detail called “loop,” and the lines that flow from the laces.
