This soap design was planned for HERBE, a non-profit organization in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture.

The design process did not involve a professional designer; instead, we asked people at the training center to pick up pebbles from the riverbank, which were then 3D scanned, 3D printed, and vacuum-formed into a mold on our design studio.

The name “jiyuu sekken pebb” means not only freedom but also “self-play.” In addition to the beauty of form brought about by nature, the natural soaps have a expression that is woven into its’ texture. Logo and packaging were also designed.

*The photo in the top image shows soap on the left and the scanned pebble on the right.
