NIBISAI
SOUMEI SHIKKI TEN / F-TRAD
Set of vessels for both Hare and Ke.

NIBISAI is a set of tableware for Hare and Ke (festive and ordinary occasions) developed with Soumei Shikai-ten, a wholesaler of Echizen lacquerware in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, founded in 1923.
NIBISAI is a set of modern tableware designed to be used for special traditional ceremonies (such ceremonies are coined as Hare no Hi), such as the weaning ceremony held on the 100th day after the birth of a child, and to be used in everyday life (referred to as Ke) for a long time afterwards.
In recent years, celebrating traditional ceremonies has gradually become more casual, and as values diversify, we sought a form that would be acceptable to future generations while preserving traditional culture. We thought a set with a minimalist, modern form that could be used in everyday life would be appropriate.
There are two sets of dishes. The two dishes can be stacked on top of each other to create height for special occasions, and when not in use they can be stacked for easy storage. There are three bowls with each proportions slightly different from each other. By matching the exterior design, we created a design that can be used as a stand-alone item or as a set.
